Displaying Service Desk Queue to Customers?

We are using SD v2.3.6.

In our case, we have not given our Customers the Browse permission on the underlying project, so they can only see requests through SD. We've done that so that they can't see Internal Comments and other hidden fields.

However, we want the Customers to be able to see what the position of their request is within the queue.

I've tried creating filters and dashboards and sharing them with the user group that includes all the Customers, but that results in an error

"The selected filter <filter-###> has an error: A value with ID '####' does not exist for the field 'project'.

The shared filter/dashboard only work if the user had Browse Projects permission in the underlying project.

Any suggestions?

If you don't give them Browse Permissions, they cannot see the issues within the normal JIRA UI. That is what the Browse Permission gives.

Your option would be to open a suggestion, extend the JIRA and JIRA Service Desk API or to find an Atlassian Expert who could do this for you.
