Display color highlighting categories in Backlog and Sprint View

Torben Tschechne September 5, 2016

Hello,

I want to categorize my tickets into "Frontend - Development", "Backend - Development" , "Data Migration" and so on. I have worked on a JIRA Board where these labels were colored and displayed here on the right side:

I know that currently there is a grey placeholder for story points, but I am sure that I have worked with a board where above mentioned criteria were displayed there, highlighted with different colors.

Does anybody know, how I can achieve it?

Thanks.

Hey Tom,

I have found what I was looking for: Epics wink

But another question: Do you know where I can enter a time estimate in my tickets? I want to say "Ticket FRIS-1 has an estimate of 4 hours"... I can not find it.

Torben - I'm guessing here based on your attachment, post some more if I guessed wrong;

"I want to categorize my tickets into "Frontend - Development", "Backend - Development" , "Data Migration" and so on." - I think you are referring to Issue Types. You can find more about them here;

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira064/defining-issue-type-field-values-720412113.html

"I have worked on a JIRA Board where these labels were colored and displayed here on the right side:" - based on the screen shot you supplied I'm guessing you are referring to the icon on the right question That is also part of the issue type definition.

Card colors can be defined in the Board Configuration - see here for more help;

Let me know if I'm off target.
