Different set of priority for different issue types?

I want to configure different values for Priority for different issue types. Like for issue type Error, the priority values should be High and Low but for issue type Development the priority should be High, Medium and Low. 

How do I configure values of one field based on the selected value of another field?

Hi Meenakshi,

It's still!! not available in JIRA out of the box. For now you can try Extended Schemes for JIRA which allows you to manage (hide and show for Projects/Issue Types) for Priorities, Resolutions and Link Types. Unfortunately, from the technical reasons it's only available on server now.

You do have other options, but I can't say they're ideal:

Not to use JIRA's priority field, and define your own custom field for it (weaknesses - JIRA's reporting tends to include priority a lot by default, you've got extra work to expose your field.  It's also just a simple drop-down, you won't get pretty colours or displays in calendars etc)

Put all your priorities in the list and then use Behaviours (or Javascript - ugh) to shorten the list by issue type.  (weaknesses - may not work in all places you can change priority, and won't stop people using REST)

JIRA does not support this out-of-the-box this is a quite popular enhancement request to track that:
