Different Workflows / Statuses for different Types of Task NOT project

jh July 11, 2012

Hello!

I am setting up a workflow schema for a project, and all works fine. But I am having different tasks, and I would like different workflows / statuses for the different types of task.

Example:
"Bug", "Task" has a kanban like schema, which works great.

A new type "Backup" is much simpler, and has different options.

Another type "Checklist" has also a different workflow.

Can I work it out to have different workflows attached to different types of tasks?

Thanks, JH

Yes, look at "workflow schemes", you'll find they allow you to associate different workflows with different issue types.

See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Activating+Workflow and look for "assigning multiple workflows to a workflow scheme"

I must have been blind. I expected it there and have been looking at it 3 times :-) Thanks!
