I have a template that automatically adds text to the description field for bugs on Jira
Once the ticket is created, when I click on that description all the text automatically deletes.
Does anyone know why this is happening or how to resolve it?
Hello, Good day. Go to issue history and check whether any automation rule or addon is clearing the description field.

Thanks. So when you select edit description everything is empty and later when you cancel the edit screen, all the previous content of description is still available ?

If I click cancel and don't type anything the description will go back to the original text, if I type something it will delete completely

Thanks. Go to project settings >> Issues >> Fields >> Edit fields and search for "Description". Check if the description is using "Wiki style renderer" or "Default"
Also this issue is seen only when description has more text ?or this is seen with short text as well ?

The description field is using Wiki renderer. This issue is only happening on one project when the description is filled in by a template. If I write a description myself and go to edit it later it doesn't happen.

Thanks. Are you using any specific addon for the template? (will try to repro from my instance)
Also you could try the "Default text" renderer once to check if it helps with the template creation.

Yes I am using an app called Issue Templates Agent. When I switch to default text renderer the default template text does not show at all. IT is really strange because the disappearing text only happens on one project and multiple projects use this add on (they are also all configured in the exact same way).
