Dependence between tasks and notifications

Zigi Zigmond July 17, 2017

Hello,

I want to create Main task and 2 Subtasks to it.

Main task will have the most detailes to the feature, etc...

one Subtask for the developer and one Subtask for the QA member.

When the Developer finish his Subtask and change the status to for ex: QA Review

I want that the QA Member will get a notification so he could start his Subtask.

Is that possible ? If so, how can i do that ?

* I don't want 1 task to pass between the developer and QA back and forth ..

I want 1 for Dev team and 1 for QA team but i want them to be connected..

YOur help will be much appreciated!

;)

Check the workflow for the developer's subtask type.  Look at the "event" it fires when the devloper finishes and completes.  Make sure the notification schem includes the QA people for that event.

With Admin rights

Navigate to Project Settings
Select issue Types->Sub Task
Click Edit
Click on the applicable transition say for example when developer changes to ready for QA
Click on the Post Function option displayed on the right hand side of the panel
A new window is displayed, click on "Add post function"
Add a post funcrtion say "Assign to Current User",Click on Add
Now Add Parameters To Function
Select the Field Value as QA person/s
Click Add

When the issue would be assigned it should generate a notifcation (check your notification scheme for that)
