Hi Filippo Balducci

These lines appear based on dates set on the issues, clear the date fields.

The Time Line option on a project is based on dates set on issues.

Hi Marc, thanks for the reply.

Where can I find the correct date fields to delete? I found those are not the Planned start or Estimate end (Projects > myProject > List), which are the ones I'm currently modifying with automation rules:

While the Epic 1 dates here do not exist, in the Plan's Timeline there are other dates:

Thank you!

Hi @Filippo Balducci

In the settings of your plan the dats used should be seen, as you can use any date field in the system in you plan.

I suspect at least Due Date and another and still it can be Planned start.

For your knowledge a Plan takes issues in based on project, board or filter.

These are the same issues in you search, list, board or project. So if you delete fields or field information you will remove it from those issues as well.

A Plan is just a visualization, not a copy of your issues from a project.

That was it, i changed the plan settings to use another field (my custom ones), and now the timeline change if I change the dates in my task list.

One thing I didn't understand is why in Projects > myProject > List, the Start Date field of tasks can be shown but not the Due Date.

Anyway, thank you!

Hello Filippo

You can exclude issues from a Plan by going to Plan Settings > Source Data.

You can use either Exclusion Rules or Removed Issues to specify issues to exclude from the plan.

Adrian's suggestion will entirely delete the issue from the Jira instance. Once you delete an issue from the Jira instance in that way, the issue is permanently gone from the instance and cannot be recovered.

Hi Trudy, thanks for the reply.

My issue is not outright deleting an issue from a plan; it's removing its timeslot once i create it.

Here for example, you can see Epic 1 has a date of start and finish, but I cannot find those dates anywhere (they are not the Issue Field dates I'm modifying through rules, like Planned start or Estimated end, which is a bit confusing to me).

I'm confident once I find how to modify those dates I can remove the timeslot (purple bar), and maybe even modify the timeslots with rules.

Hi,

Just go to the issues (by clicking on their code you get to their detailed view) and click on the three dots > Delete.

I hope this is helpful, best regards!
