Delete empty sprints which are not attached to any board

I had a few old sprints which were part of testing boards I defined once when I started to integrate the JIRA in my team.

These were projects and boards created only for testing.

Since they always showed up in the sprint dropdown list when editing an issue I wanted to delete them.

I verifyed they were empty sprints with no issues attached and deleted the whole board related to them.

BUT the sprints still exist in the dropdown list.

HOW do I clean this list?
