Deactivate editing issues

I would like to deactivate the edit of a issue when it is in certain states. Is this possible?

The goal is this:

- Users can create and edit issues and then send it to another user.

- A this point the only things that can be done on the issue is to resolve it (Accepted, Rejected) but cannot change the content of the issue.

Yep, stick a  workflow property on it.

The most simple one is jira.issue.editable = false, added to the status you want to protect, but you can be more clever, letting only certain roles edit in the status for example.
