Custom field select list populated with git repo names

We want to add a custom field that lets users pick a git repository name from a list. Our JIRA (5.2) is integrated with Crucible and we have Script Runner installed.

I have it in my head that a Scripted Field could build a list of options for the values by querying either Crucible or git directly. I haven't a clue how to go about that. Do any of you?

That's a nice plugin, Andrey, but I don't think it'll get me what I need in this case.
