Custom field not searchable

Hi All

I have a custom field ; Status Summary and i can see that it is applied to a project in its context and associated with a few screens.

However, when i search "Status Summary" is not null, the JQL window retrns error message

Field 'Status summary by' is not searchable, it is only sortable.

Any idea guys what might be wrong?

Sounds like you have not given it a searcher.

Go to admin -> custom fields -> status summary -> edit

and look for the "searcher". Change it to something on that list - the list varies by what type of field you've defined. If you've written it yourself, there may be none, in which case you'll need to add it in your code.
