Custom field error

Hi

We had an old custom plugin which created a custom field - Last Comment on jira. Now we have removed that custom plugin. However since then we are getting this error in the logs

2013-08-30 03:02:42,283 http-443-35 ERROR jayaswal 182x25583x2 1acs6c2 10.12.128.247 /secure/admin/CreateCustomField.jspa [jira.issue.managers.DefaultCustomFieldManager] Could not load custom field type plugin with key 'com.opentv.jira.plugins.last-comment-linked-issues-field:LastComment'. Is the plugin present and enabled?

Is it safe to just go in the custom field section and delete the custom field?

Although this error message looks safe however today we had a jira crash and the last line in the log indicated this line which makes it highly likely that the crash was triggered by this line.

Hi Rahul,

It is not likely that this error is causing JIRA to crash. You may want to check on lines that comes before it as well, perhaps there is outOfMemoryError thrown in the logs. I would recommend to contact support.atlassian.com for investigation. Best to mention the time of crash and also the status of your Production instance.
