Custom Property Tied to Version

It would be helpful if I could add my own property to a version (for example, it has name, description, start, end).  I would like to add a link to the downloadable file (even if just text).  I'm using description for this now but would be nice if I could just add to release.  I could see other properties that might want to be tracked with a release.

There is no way to add additional details to Versions beyond the provided ones without additional plugins.  And to that end I did not find any related plugins after a quick search.  (The underlying object used by JIRA is fixed with those fields, so additional fields would need to be stored separately using AO as a custom object. Additionally you need to a little custom JS to expose the values in the UI, and a web service to handle updates.)
