Crucible activate Jira Issue Transition at Global level

Chnikki October 21, 2012

In Crucible, I came across the instructions transitionaing Jira issues upon review completion here:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CRUCIBLE/Transitioning+JIRA+issues

In the "Notes" at the bottom of the page, it says "Administrators can activate or deactivate JIRA Issue Transitions at a global level via the Administration interface."

Where in the Administration interface is this setting?

I searched for this information on the interwebs and didn't find it. By just clicking through all the links in the Crucible Administration interface, I came across a checkbox for JIRA Issue Transitions under Smart Commits. I don't think this is 'global level' access being referred to in the 'Transitioning Jira Issues' documentation. Mainly because I have it checked, but I still don't see the transition select box when closing a review.

Does anyone know where this setting is?

Using Crucible v2.9.1 and JIRA 5.2.1

So I see the documentation for this has been updated to specify that "JIRA administrators can activate or deactivate JIRA issue transitions (the workflow) from the JIRA administration interface."

I also now includes a link to activating workflow in JIRA. I was still a bit confused because that page talks about activating the JIRA workflow. In our instance, the JIRA workflow is assigned to our default workflow on our default project as it always has.

I think what they mean is that the JIRA workflow transition step properties need to be marked as editable.

To change the workflow transition step properties, I followed these steps:

  1. Log in as a user with the JIRA Administrators global permission.
  2. Choose the cog icon at top right of the screen, then choose JIRA Admin. Then choose Projects from the menu bar and select the name of the project of interest.
  3. On the left of the Project Summary page, click the Workflows tab (or in the Workflows section, click either the name of the current workflow scheme or the More link). The Workflows page is displayed, indicating the current workflow scheme used by the project.
  4. Click the Edit button under the name of the workflow scheme currently associated with the project.
  5. Click on View Properties under the transition step you want to be able to be changed in Crucible and add Property Key = jira.issue.editable and Property Value = True, then click on Add button.

I edited all of the workflow transition steps as described above.

When summarizing the review in Crucible, it still doesn't allow you to transition the issue :-(
