Create my first plan on Jira Portfolio

bas uriya July 21, 2017

Hi,

I'm really new with JIRA (less than 24 hours).

I've created two simple projects with a few tasks each one.

When I click on Portfolio menu, only appears "Manage" option.

I read something about that its important to have the "Fix Version" field with the aim portfolio can work properly, but this fields didn't appear when I create a new task, this field doesn't appear.

Can anyone tell me what I miss to configure?

Thanks for your help.

By default, JIRA Software does not populate any version values in the project.  You will need to create the versions on a per project basis.  Steps on how to do this are in Managing Versions.

Once you have some versions defined there, then you can update an issues in JIRA to either populate the Fixed Version or Affects Version with these version numbers/names you created there.

Hi Andrew is this reply an installation step for Portfolio? As there is this step is not present in the documentation.

It seems that you are misunderstanding the question.  The original poster has not asked about how to manage project versions in Jira. But how to view the "Create Plan" screen in Portfolio for Jira.
