We prefer not to add an additional project in our case (the goal is to track my personal system administration related tasks separately from other issues in our project), but to create a standalone (if possible) board, add issues that should be stored in it, but they shouldn't be displayed in any project. Is there a way we can achieve this? Thanks.
No, an issue belongs to a project. It's complete nonsense to try to have them outside a project because you can't configure them, as the configuration is done at a project level.
If you can't see an issue in a project, you can't see it on the board either.
The best you can do here is simply having a project to keep all these "non-project" issues in.
