Create a subtask from a closed issue?

So we were a bit behind and recently upgraded from Jira 3 to 5, then now 6. We used to be able to create subtasks from closed issue (and did so fairly regularly). However now in 5 and 6 it looks like it does not allow you to do so? Is there a way around this? Thanks!

Hi Chris,

There is no such condition of blocking creation of Subtasks in JIRA 5 or 6 on closed issues.

Please check whether any property (jira.issue.editable) is associated with the step of workflow.
