Create a roadmap in Jira cloud

Deleted user September 21, 2017

As i know, Jira has the roadmap feature. However, i cannot see anyway to access it

I followed the instruction in below article. Unfortunately, It seems to be that the UI in the article is quite old and in the new UI we don't have the option to access roadmap in Jira.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira062/browsing-a-project-s-road-map-588581811.html

So i would like to know if Jira Cloud offers the roadmap feature and how to access it

Thanks

you can see it that way if you create a brand new project and select the next gen project option, there is no other way to make it work as advertised.image.pngimage.png

Thanks a lot! It works. I've tried it to create from another place and it was no option like this.

Hello guys

Is it possible to bring old issue types modified (with workflows) from classic project to next gen projects?

Your only option currently is to migrate all issues to a new project, see https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/migrate-between-next-gen-and-classic-projects/. Unfortunately you are then limited by the simplified options in the next-gen projects.

There is a feature request in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17214 to add the missing feature to Classic projects.

Erik Sa (Atlassian) confirmed they are looking at implementing it: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17214?focusedCommentId=2018028&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel#comment-2018028

For some reason the roadmap feature has only been added for the simple Next Gen projects, not for the full featured (with the exception of Roadmaps) Classic projects.

Consider voting for https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17214

The last update on that Help article is 2013, so I think the advice might be very out of date. I submitted an issue on the article page, so hopefully someone updates or comments about the current status of the feature.

The closest this to a Roadmap report I could find is this add-on: https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/portfolio/agile-roadmap-planning

There is a 30 day free trial, but subscription pricing after that.

Looks like it's not what was announced. Looking forward for any other news. Thanks anyway.

Hi Duyet,

The UI has changed a bit and now you're going to add that as a gadget:

Screen Shot 2017-09-21 at 2.02.07 PM.png

This is explained a bit more in the Adding the Road Map Gadget from JIRA 6.4.x:

  • Go to your JIRA dashboard and click 'Add Gadget'.
  • The 'Gadget Directory' will appear. Locate the 'Road Map' gadget and click the 'Add it Now' button. Then click the 'Finished' button at the bottom of the Gadget Directory.
  • The Road Map gadget will appear on your dashboard as follows, ready for you to configure.
  • Click the 'Save' button.

Cheers,

Branden
