Create KB Article fails with "Page Not Found"

Seb Kouba June 10, 2015

I have oauth application links with Confluence incoming impersonated by a user who can create pages in the relevant space.

This is the URL where I end up when I try to create the KB article:

plugins/createcontent/draft-createpage.action?draftId=1212514

The page you were trying to reach could not be found. This could be because:
The page does not exist.
The page exists, but you do not have permission to view it.

The application links work otherwise (self service, issue links etc.).

JIRA is version 6.4.2, Confluence 5.7.4

I have no idea what could be causing this other than some weird application link problem.

Any ideas what to do?

Hi Seb,

As the App links are properly working here, a page not found generally could be related to redirections or some address being added, not compatible with the App links URL. For that, check for the following:

  1. If you have proxy configured, please, consider bypassing the application links proxy to see if the same would happen. https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/How+do+I+bypass+a+reverse+proxy+for+use+in+Application+Links
  2. Check if the Base URL of both instances are matching with the App links
  3. Check which URL is given for the page not found and confirm if it will match with the current content of the instance.

Hope it helps you!
