As a JIRA Admin, I have created dashboards for senior management to review the upcoming releases for all the projects and programs we are currently working on. The roadmap gadget is the best tool for visualizing these details.
However, according to a notification from JIRA, we will no longer be able to use this gadget after December 9. I reviewed the information about the gadgets and alternative options and found that the timeline feature will be upgraded.
Could you guide me on how to create a dashboard that displays all project releases in one place?
Hi @Nandhini M
Jira's Timeline feature, part of Advanced Roadmaps, offers a visual representation of project plans, including release dates, milestones, and tasks, providing a flexible and powerful alternative to the deprecated Roadmap gadget. To leverage this feature, create a new dashboard displaying releases by following these steps.
Primarily, create a new dashboard by navigating to Dashboards > Create Dashboard, setting permissions for relevant stakeholders. Next, add relevant gadgets, such as the Filter Results, Version Report, and Two-Dimensional Filter Statistics gadgets, using JQL queries to pull release-related issues.
If you have Jira Premium or Enterprise, utilize Advanced Roadmaps to create a detailed timeline. Go to Plans, select or create a plan encompassing desired projects, and switch to the Timeline view to display upcoming releases and tasks.
Customize the Timeline by selecting projects or teams, applying filters, grouping issues, and personalizing appearance. This tailored approach enables effective management of multiple projects and releases.
Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
