Copying project from ondemand to server instance?

Adam Arnold September 2, 2014

We are currently trying to migrate our OnDemand instance of Jira into our server instance. Most items we have transferred manually (there was not a lot to transfer in that respect), however we noticed the Jira Import Project feature and figured that would be the easiest way transferring 20 projects over.

The problem lies in that both the OD and server version numbers do not add up (for obvious reasons), meaning that the import wizard will not accept the zip file containing the OD backup. Both the server and OD instances are running the latest stable releases of Jira. Is there another method to transfer projects from OD to server? Each project has anywhere from 15-500 tickets, so copying them all across manually would be the last thing we'd want.

Any help appreciated!

Install a test JIRA version that is matching to your standalone JIRA version and move the onDemand instance to the new test JIRA.

You can then do project imports from new test to old prod.
