Control Chart Average - Mixing Weeks & Days?

Hi, 

On the control chart I have "show non working days" unticked. 

But the way it display average cycle times seems odd:

In the average display (top left of chart)..

For values less than a week I get e.g. 3d 4h 

For values over 1 week I get e.g. 1w 3d 4h 

so far so good...

But I also see values like 1w 5d 4h

Should this last one not say 2w 4h if I am not counting NON working days. 

Why does it show 1w then 5 days (5 days is one week assuming I'm only counting working days). 

Does a 1w actually mean 5 days in the display or am I missing something.

I think my JIRA instance is configured to have 5 working days per 7 day calendar week (sat an sun are not working days). When i ask the control chart to not include working days in the calculations, it seems to me that a "week" for the purposes of the abbreviation is calculated as 7 working days (which doesn't make sense...).

E.g. The control chart says an issues cycle time is "1w 4d 4h 1m".

Started work: 4/04/2018  1:27:00 PM

Finished work: 19/04/2018  5:27:00 PM

~11 working days + 4 working hours. So seems the abbreviation is 7 working days (1w) + 4 days + 4 hours. This seems a nonsense conversion as the working days are spread across a 15 elapsed calendar days..

I would expect to see 1w = 5 working days. Is this a jira bug?

Hi Ian, I read 2 w 1d to be 15 working days so 3 calendar weeks. Hope that makes sense! But of course it doesn't.  I stand to be corrected, I would love to be corrected as this discovery is mind-melting.

Hi Ian,

how is your time tracking generally configured (in the JIRA administration look in the System menu)? The default is that one week means 5d.
