Configuring SSL for JIRA creates a selfsigned certificate and does not use the user given certificat

Karthikeyan K January 10, 2018

Hi,

I am trying to configure SSL for JIRA on port 443. The dashboard loads with SSL error, when i went and viewed the certificate i see a self signed certificate been used. I think when the keypair is generated a self signed certificate is created and is been used.

I tried the steps in the following URL, https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira064/running-jira-over-ssl-or-https-720411727.html#RunningJIRAoverSSLorHTTPS-commandline

Please let me know the exact steps i should follow to get this thing fixed.

Thank you,

Karthikeyan K

@Karthikeyan K, I would like to help you, but first I have to fully understand your problem.

  • you are trying to setup Jira using SSL
  • communication should be over port 443
  • you don't want to pay for your certificate
  • you are using tomcat only
  • you do not use any proxy like apache or nginx
  • your server is running on Linux
  • your have full admin rights on the server

Just tell me where I am right or wrong.
