I am using Jira 5.0.6 version and configured comment issue service handler on our instance. When I reply to an issue by adding multiple lines, it is creating a new blank white line between every line and loosing the original format. Please see the attachment for more details. Anyone else faced this problem. I use MsOutlook 2010 to comment on an issue. The content of the message contains newline in Jira issue. Any recommendatiosn for fixing this issue?

Hi Ramesh

I believe that this error could be related to the OE message format. Regarding the following link, there's a format which is not properly recognized by other application than a Microsoft one (RTF).

Also, I've found a known improvement requesting a better support for reply emails from OE, which seems to be related to it. Please vote for it:

So, just as a double check, please try to change the email format.

Thanks Paulo for your response. Commenting on an issue via e-mail is working fine for me, I am using "Split Regex: /^From:*/" in the comment issue handler. As I mentioned in my original post it is creating a white space between every line when the outlook client format is html, I am not sure from where these white space are getting created.
