Closing a sprint used by multiple boards... Edited

When closing a sprint in which multiple boards have stories assigned will all the stories get moved to the future or backlog as chosen by the person closing the sprint?  Or is it only going to be those stories from the board which you are closing the sprint that get moved?  

Our assumption is that when closing (completing) a sprint all stories no matter which board they are filter will get moved to the next sprint when choosing to move "open" stories to next sprint, is this the correct assumption?

If not how do we ensure that "all" stories from all associated boards using that sprint get moved when completing a sprint?

We are facing a similar issue where the sprint is shared between projects.  Closing the sprint and selecting Move issues to next sprint only works on 1 project. The issues in other projects move to the backlog.
