Dears, I am struggling with the so known automation tool. I am looking for a solution to clone all issues under a given fix version. It is imperative that the dependencies and subtasks within each issue are cloned as well. In my case, all subtasks are assigned to the same fix version as well.
Is there any possibility to do this? If yes, I would like to check the following:
- Which trigger, would be recommended to use?
- Where can I put the query to select the stories to clone?
- Where can I specify that I want also the subtasks incl. dependencies also cloned as well.
Thank you very much in advance.
Cheers,
Jonathan
Hi Jonathan - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Your best option is to use the Deep Clone tool in the Atlassian Marketplace.
Hello @John Funk, Thanks for the advice.
This is in fact what I am looking for.
I was just wondering if there is any chance to make the same procedure with JIRA-Automation? Since this is the current functionality we have available in our project. Cheers, Jonathan

It would be very complex to do that with automation if even possible - though it probably is.

Hello @Jonathan King
If I understand correctly, you’re trying to copy issues with all their subtasks under a given fix version, right? In that case, I can suggest trying our app Elements Copy & Sync that allows you to clone and sync a full hierarchy of issues with all their content (summary, description, custom fields, comments, attachments, etc).
You can check the guide here.
The app is for free during 30 days (and it stays free under 10 users).

Thanks Clara, That's exactly what I need. Do you know if it's possible to do the same with JIRA-Automation?

It might be possible with Automation but it would require creating many different rules, especially to clone the full hierarchy of issues. However, I won't be the most qualified to explain how to do it I'm afraid :)
