Clarification on Next Gen Export issues in Jira Cloud

Snow February 7, 2020

Could anyone help me understand the known issues that are referred to in this article:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/exporting-issues-776636787.html

specifically:

Currently, exports that include next-gen software projects won't include any epic link or other relationship data between epics and their children issues. This is a known error and we're working to fix it. Thanks for your patience.

Context: planning for backups in a Jira cloud instance that contains a few next-gen projects. The wording is not clear to me and I would like to know if this affects epic relationship data for all projects exported or just the next gen projects that exist in the instance.

It only impacts NG projects. This is because there really isn’t an epic link in NG projects that link stories to epics. What I assume would happen, if you were to restore NG projects from backup would be the loss of epic-story relationship.
