I have a custom field drop down "Issue Classification".
I want to get this feld configured in a way so that whenever Issue type - Defect is raised Issue classification choose Defect from its drop down.
If Issue type "Task" is raised Issue classification choose task from its options.
Custom field is not script runner field.
Please suggest the options
I don't know that there's a way to accomplish this without a custom scripted field.
I'm not sure I fully understand the requirement here, though. It just seems like you're storing the Issue Type value in two separate fields. In what case(s) would the Issue Classification field be different than the Issue Type? The two examples you gave only show situations in which they would be exactly the same, and I don't see the purpose in saving the same exact data in two separate custom fields.
