Changes to a screen do not display

Steve Krysko December 4, 2012

On production instance of JIRA 4.02, I add a tab to a screen, re-index, and the new tab will not display on screen. This activity works in our development instance. What could cause this issue?

Re-indexing won't help you with tabs on screens.

Adding a tab to a screen should have immediate effect, but it depends on where you're looking. If the tab is on an issue VIEW screen, then you need to make sure the tab contains at least one field that has issue data on it, otherwise Jira will hide it. If it's an edit/create/transition screen, then the tab should appear if the user has the right to amend the field.

My guess is that you're looking at a view screen and the issue has no data, so you need to test a bit further to establish exactly what's happening

Hey there, Steve.

Seems that you are running JIRA 4.0.2 that has already reached the End of Life (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/Support/Atlassian+Support+End+of+Life+Policy). Can you try to upgrade to he supported version to see if you still have the same issue as well?

Warm regards,

Danial
