Change the path of attachments directory in Jira 5.1.2

Franz Gut December 4, 2012

The attachment path is actually set to the default directory. I would like to change it to a directory of an other partition or to a shared directory of an other server. How can i change the path in the jira configuration to a custom directory?

Hi Franz,

As describe on our knowledge base article, the only possible way to use a different directory outside the default HOME directory is to use Linux and link the directory to another path.

Hope it helps.

<pedant>Actually, if you were chain-ganged into using windows, you could also mount a new filesystem over an (empty) attachment folder (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307889) #justsayin</pedant>

You could use any Unix variant to do this, not just Linux. Also, if you were on VMS, you could add a second directory to the apparent path.
