Change a 10 User License with a 50 User License and vice versa

My question is about changing Licenses from one instance to another.

At the moment I have a 50 User license running on instance A. Instance B has a 10 User License. I would like to change the licenses of A with that of B due to project adjustments. Is it possible? What happens with the registered Users? Are they just inactive? Which users will be still active? For the switch from the 50 to 10 user license I just need 8 users to be active?

Any experiences? Thanks for your help in advance.

Your users will remain in place, but you won't be able to do much more than run queries and reports on issues until you reduce your user count down to fit inside your licence limit. It's up to you to decide who to remove/deactivate (I'd recommend doing it before applying the 10 user licence)

Thanks for your answer, I could solve it. To deactivate the users, just get rid of all roles assigned to them.
