Capture when a workflow button is pressed

Hi,

Jira 4.2.4.

Is it possible to capture when a workflow button is pressed? I mean the workflow button on the Issue's display screen, which shows the form in which users can select the assignee and enter a comment.

Essentially what I want is to set the assignee to the previous assignee so that the user doesn't have to. Can this be done via the API or do I have to use javascript?

You can only have a post fucntion do it. If you want to change the assignee to previous assignee on the transition screen itself, you can't do it via plugins. Javascript solution might work but I am not sure how you can egt the previous assignee details in that screen!
