You don't say what 'this' is. However, JIRA works on a grant permission model, not a deny model. So only grant permission to the desired group or role. Using individual users in security is a bad practice. It is too easy to forget to delete them or replace them with their replacement when they leave. Even if you only put one user in a group or role use a group or role. then you can easily add another person to cover vacation if nothing else.

What i'm trying to accomplish is to set the issue security so that only users who are member of a specific group, can only see the issues reported by, or assigned to, them.
