Can you embed a script using script runner?

I have script runner and a script I would like to use for a workflow Post Function. Do I have to have the file seperate? Or can i embed it into the workflow from a Post Function somehow? All i see as an option is Script-Post Function. Making it seem like I have to have a file with the script and just give the file location.

AFAIK we cannot embed the script within JIRA . I save all my groovy scripts in a folder in JIRA_HOME this makes it easy to maintain .
