Can you duplicate an existing issue type to make a new one?

Angela May 25, 2023

We have a number of issue types currently created (Design Brief, Programming Request, Video Request, etc.). I am looking to duplicate the Programming Request issue type and make one slight adjustment to the fields so it is geared specifically as a Development Bug Request.

When I go to look at the issue types, I see the 'Add Issue Type' button to create a new one, but that is creating it from scratch. And it'd be helpful to duplicate and modify vs starting from scratch.

When I look at the issue types I do see the 3 dot dropdown next to each issue type, but I only get the option to edit, delete or translate.

Thank you!

Hi Angela, as John said, you do have to create them from scratch. There is a Suggestion submitted to add this functionality.  You can Vote and Watch it here: JRACLOUD-32018

It would be handy to have.

Unfortunately, the resolution is: "Won't do".

Hi Angela,

No, you have to create each one from scratch.
