Hi all,
We have a JIRA ticket that people assign to themselves when they are travelling.
Step 1) Travel Brief. The person enters dates of travel and other relevant details. From there we close the ticket off.
Step 2) Travel Debrief. When the person comes back from their trip the person is supposed to open another ticket to complete their travel debrief.
People often forget step 2 which results in having to chase the person up to complete
Question: Can we link this process so that when completing step one, another email is sent to the individual to complete their debrief ticket once they return from travel. It would be preferable if the email was sent once the traveller returns.
For example the first ticket states the traveller will return from travel on X Date. Could we automatically create a workflow that would send an email to the individual on the X Date (return date from travel) prompting them to complete their debrief?
Hope this makes sense.
Looking forward to some assistance.
Please and thank you.
Cheers
Hi @Bo G ,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community.
You could create an automation rule that is triggered automatically at a regular interval (ex. once a day).
The automation rule could gather all the ticket where the return date has been reached, and send out an email to the reporter.
However, I don't know if you have a link between the "Travel brief" and the "Travel Debrief" ticket. I presume you don't. So that would mean the reminder email is always sent, also if the user already created a debrief ticket.
Best regards,
Kris
Thanks Kris. I'll raise this with the team next week and see if we can get this done.
Many thanks.
