Hi @Venkata Subbarao Harish Nimasakavi
There are multiple ways to migrate like copy Jira data, JCMA or Atlassian partner. Selecting one tool will depend on following:
- Do both the Jira versions you are working with have the same field templates?
- Are you moving an entire project or only selected data?
- Is the newer version of Jira already in use?
- How much downtime can you afford during the migration?
If the newer version of Jira Cloud has the exact same field templates and downtime during the migration is acceptable then you can go ahead and copy Jira data to the cloud, as Samuel suggested.
But if system downtime is not an option or if you have different field templates between Jira Server and Cloud then the best approach is to go with an Atlassian Partner. OpsHub, an Atlassian Silver Partner supports zero downtime and no disruption migrations allowing teams to continue working on both systems without any halts in operations or productivity. Live++ migrations can migrate across different field templates, without having to upgrade to the Jira Server.
Feel free to get in touch.
Hope this helps!
Hi @Venkata Subbarao Harish Nimasakavi
Can you please provide more context?
- Do you want to migrate data from a Jira Server or DC instance to Cloud?
- Whats the current Jira version that you have installed?
Best regards

Hi @Venkata Subbarao Harish Nimasakavi
In a Cloud-to-Cloud migration, you need to Copy Jira Data to the new Cloud environment.
Before you kick off the process, please take a moment to check the following document to help you plan everything smoothly.
