Can use existing user login details to use Jira Service Desk?

We are interested in incorporating JIRA Service Desk into our current portal to offer a better support experience. However the deal breaker is having to have separate logins. Is there a way we can use our clients existing login details to use Jira?

You can use the existing logins. They just need to access the new portal url, that's all.
