Can the Customer Portal be hosted outside the JIRA System?

William LaRue October 30, 2015

We operate in a secured environment, which does not allow access to populations not authenticated on the network. We would like to use the Customer Portal for Service Desk, but would have to host it in another location in order to allow non-network users to create requests. Is there some information about doing such a setup? Thanks.

Hi William,

This should be something you should be able to do on you web server configuration. Similar to

To be clear, Bhushan is suggesting that you run the full system, and then use Apache to limit access to parts of it. Service Desk runs on top of JIRA - you can't run it without a full JIRA underneath it.
