Can't see security level field on an issue

I have added the Security Level field to the screen for my project. When I create or edit an issue I cannot see the security level field. I checked and I have the required permissions. Is there something I am missing?

This usually means you don't have "set security level" permission on the project.  Could you check "where's my field" on the standard JIRA edit screen?  (i.e. not the service desk portal view)

Thanks Nic, I actually discovered that I had not associated the issue security scheme to my project. Once I did this the field appeared.
