Can't integrate with GitHub

Drew Robinson October 5, 2018

We're getting an error when clicking the "Integrate with GitHub" button

  • Integrate with GitHub button click > ``batch.js?adg3Enabled=true&agile_global_admin_condition=true&devsummary=true&globalSidebarEnabled=true&jag=true&jaguser=true&jira-nps-enabled=true&locale=en-US&nps-acknowledged=true&nps-not-opted-out=true:11517 Uncaught TypeError: i.getStringValue is not a function``` (edited)
  • key bit
    ```Uncaught TypeError: i.getStringValue is not a function```
Do we have something setup incorrectly or is this an Atlassian bug?
Hi Drew,
Very recently Atlassian started to deprecate the DVCS plugin for use in connecting Jira Cloud to Github repos.   Previously this was an Atlassian system plugin that has been used to connect to Github's service.
In it's place, Github has created their own plugin/app to handle these kinds of connections from Jira Cloud sites.  You can find an updated document to this in Connect Jira Cloud to GitHub
The plugin/app can be found in our marketplace at https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219592/github-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview
Support for this particular app is provided by Github.   Sorry to hear that you have run into this problem, however I suspect that you were trying to add this github repo at a time when this change was taking place.
You should be able to now follow the steps in that updated guide to use the Github for Jira app to integrate these two products.
Andy
