Can't connect to exchange 2013 IMAP mailbox to create tickets

Rick Pooley June 6, 2017

I recently moved from exchange 2010 to 2013 and am unable to autocreate tickets with our imap connected mailbox.  I am able to successfully communicate with our mailbox under system > incoming mail but when I go to applications > email requests and run a test there I get the following error message:

"Unfortunately JIRA couldn't connect to the mail server. Here is what the mail server said: "Server Unavailable. 15""

I am able to test imap successfully via telnet and outlook.

Any ideas?

Hi Rick,

From the Microsoft forums a number of people have resolved this by enabling IMAP protocol logging.

Barring that as a soluiton:

  1. Make sure all the ms exchange services are running
  2. If you're using a proxy server make sure the settings are correct

  3. Confirm the health status

  4. Review the Exchange logs

Hopefully that leads you in the right direction!

Cheers,
