Can not make a release from Agile

Carles Rabaneda August 31, 2014

I create a new version, for instance 0.0.6

I create all the tasks that I want to be done for version 0.0.6

The field "affect versions" I understand that is for old version for instance 0.0.5

The field "fix version" I understand that is for the version I want the task be included in so it should be 0.0.6

After all tasks are "Done" in the Agile view I should be able to click on "Release" so all those tasks "Done" will be included in version 0.0.6 but when I try to write the version 0.0.6 Jira says that the version already exists.

What is the correct use of "Release"?

Thanks,

Carles.

Hey Carles.

Release button expects to CREATE a new release version. So if you need to have a 0.6 version released. You need to have just 0.5 in your JIRA and them release a brand new 0.6

Hope this helps.

Thanks Diego,

I expected that I could create a Release and after that include closed issues into that release, but I guess that's not possible.

The only way to do this is when you are ready for "release" then you create that release and that can not be modified adding more issues to the release later.

Is that correct?

Thanks,

Carles.
