Can be JIRA on-demand platform linked to a local (self hosted) server of svn?

Paul Chiriac April 17, 2013

Hello,

I am making an eva, luation to purchase JIRA OnDeman for 10 users (in the first phase).

I would like to know if the on-demand JIRA platform can be linked to a svn repository server that we are hosting locally.

Thank You,

Paul

Subversion integration in JIRA Cloud is now possible with the Svn Gateway add-on.
It allows to link multiple repositories, on the Internet or in the intranet to your JIRA Cloud instance.

Paul, actually, it is possible to connect a local Fisheye/Crucible instance with JIRA OnDemand. This way you would be able to integrate your local SVN server with a local Fisheye/Crucible, and respectively Fisheye/Crucible with JIRA OnDemand. More info about this can be found here - https://go-dvcs.atlassian.com/display/aod/connect.</span<>>

Hi Paul,

I'm sorry to say that this isn't currently possible, so if you wish to host our SVN repository locally then you would also need to host your own JIRA instance too. However, it is possible to have a locally hosted Stash instance and connect that to your OnDemand instance but unfortunately Stash only supports Git and it isn't currently possible to connect a locally hosted FishEye/Crucible instance, (that would be able to manage an SVN repository), with an OnDemand instance.

All the best,
John

Hi John,

One more question / clarification…

If we have an in house hosted GIT repository server, than we will be able to connect the OnDemand JIRA platform to it?

And have all the functionality related to link source code commit / checkin to an JIRA incident / task.

It is not a problem from our side to use GIT in this case.

Thank You,

Paul

There is an SVN plugin for onDemand pending of approval:

https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/AMKT-9723

More details about the plugin here:

http://matrixreq.com/

It is NOT related with Subversion ALM in any way. But it might help some companies to get a basic integration of onDemand with Subversion.
