Can automatically assign the project lead to a project role?

Is there a ware to automatically assign the project lead in Jira to a project role on the project creation step or even as a default member?

In our organisation the project lead is the project manager in 99% of cases and therefore our users wanted this field to be automatically popluated.

You can't do this unless you write a plugin for it.
