If a test case is executed and it's status is passed. Can this already executed test case be executed again ? If can, what happens to the old result. Can this be done from the Test Cycle Summary Page ?

Hi Veera,

Are you using any test management add-on in JIRA?

Test cases are supposed to be reusable and re-executable, it is the fundamental of a test management tool.

The test result/status is not supposed to be attached to test case ticket directly. Instead, it is supposed to be attached to “Tests” or “Test Case Run”. A test case can be executed multiple times as “Tests” or “Test Case Run” from any test plan or test cycle, and the execution result should be attached to “Tests” or “Test Case Run” directly. So, from a test case, you can read execution history (results) but test case ticket result/status is never supposed to be changed from test case.

Our product synapseRT NextGen is professional test management add-on in JIRA, spend several minites having a look at
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.go2group.jira.plugin.synapse/server/overview.

Email me at cma@go2group.com if you want a demo and learn more about synapseRT NextGen.

Cheney
