Background -
My development organization is beginning to use BDD. It is a large org with 20+ dev teams.
We use Jira and Zephyr.
There are projects in Jira (20+) for each development team.
As teams are trained to use BDD, the BDD feature is enabled for that project in Jira.
There are also multiple QA teams that support the 20+ dev teams. One of the QA teams (which supports 8 of the 20+ dev teams) has a designated project in Jira (named ABQA).
All test cases for the 8 projects supported by that QA team are added to the ABQA project and linked (as related) to the user story in the dev project that it is associated with.
Question -
If the dev team project (CDEF) has the BDD feature enabled, and scenarios are added to Feature Content section in features in that project, is there a way to have those scenarios automatically added to the ABQA project rather than adding them to the CDEF project?
Hi @Greg Kaufman,
Not a direct answer to your question, but you might be interested in taking a look at this Jira app - BDD for Jira.
It is geared towards supporting BDD process directly from Jira and is very flexible in terms of how you can use it.
You can add Feature file to any Jira issue, so you are not restricted by issue/project type. Further you can simply clone a Jira issue from one project into another and the complete feature file along with all of the Scenarios will be cloned over along also.
I'd be happy to provide a demo, or answer any questions that you may have. You can reach me on support@sharedspec.com

Dmytro
