Can Jira Service Desk reset LDAP password?

Greg Mora July 12, 2017

We have a lot of consultants and external customers that can't reset their password unless they are on campus or use another external tool. We would like to do consolidate this function to JSD so that we have a one stop shop.

So 2 questions:

1. Can Jira Service Desk change the password for Microsoft Active Directory?

2. Can Jira Service Desk unlock accounts from admin side?

Any help or direction is greatly appreciated.

Hi Greg,

JIRA can modify accounts in AD if it is setup as a Read/Write connector:

LDAP users, groups and memberships are retrieved from your directory server. When you modify a user, group or membership via the application administration screens, the changes will be applied directly to your LDAP directory server. Please ensure that the LDAP user specified for the application has modification permissions on your LDAP directory server.

In regards to unlocking accounts, you would need to use an add-on such as Active Directory Attributes Sync 2 for that operation.

Cheers,

Branden
