Can JIRA SD be exposed outside of a firewall but JIRA inside the firewall?

Muggie van Staden June 7, 2016

A client wants to be able to allow external people to access the customer portal outside of their firewall without having to expose their entire JIRA instance.  Is this possible to expose 1 URL but not another?

In my opinion the best way to approach this would be from a webserver. With Apache HTTP server or Nginix server you could control routing very specifically. Combined with a firewall policy you could achieve this use-case.

Obviously this response is fairly generic. It's important to note that normal system administration topics can address this concern outside of the application itself.

If they are separate ones now, yes. You can put the for the public one in the public DNS and not the other.
