I'm trying to implement SLAs in my Jira Software Project and I can't see the SLAs option in my project settings.
I saw this related question:
I understood that you can have the SLAs option for a Service Desk Project, but not for a Software Project. Is this still the same as of 2022?

Exactly, SLA option/feature is only available for Jira Service Management, not for the Jira Software out of the box.
However you can use the third party plugin to achieve the functionality. There are many add-ons available I have listed few of them below.
